  • There are opportunities throughout this tour to ask questions as well as during a debriefing session at the hospitality area, to include a question and answer session with a marketing manager.

Day Four: City of London

  • Visits will take place to world famous and world leading organisations in the financial markets of the City of London. London’s financial institutions are world leading; one third of global foreign exchange turnover is executed here, compared to 18% in New York and 4% in Paris.
  • The first visit is to the London Metal Exchange (LME), the world’s premier non-ferrous metals market.  The world prices for these metals are set in the open-cry trading pit, which can be viewed on the tour of the premises.  It is highly successful, with a turnover value of some US$2,000 billion per annum. It is a major contributor to the UK’s invisible earnings, responsible for more than £250 million in overseas earnings each year.
  • The second visit of the day is to Lloyds of London, the world's leading insurance provider, delivering specialist insurance services to businesses in over 200 countries and territories.  London is the world’s largest market for internationally traded insurance. It controls 27% of the world’s aviation insurance and 22 % of the marine insurance market. More than £14 billion in gross insurance premiums are negotiated every year on the London insurance market, headed by Lloyds. An expert guide will explain how the Lloyds business is conducted.
